Reduction in tax on interest

The Icelandic Parliament has accepted a bill reducing the withholding tax on interest paid to foreign investors. The tax applied to individuals is reduced from 20% to 10% and the tax applied to legal entities is reduced from 18% to 10%. 

The law will take effect on January 1st 2012 and applies to withholding from that day forward.
